Education

2020 to present – Ph.D. Student, philosophy, University of Western Ontario. AOC: Early Modern Philosophy (17th century).

Thesis: The Legacy of 17th Century Neo-Stoicism. I attempt to map out some of the core philosophical positions in Neo-Stoic ethics by comparing Renaissance commentator Justus Lipsius to classical Stoics such as Seneca. I then proceed to examine the role of these themes in discussions of moral philosophy by Descartes, Princess Elisabeth of Bohemia, and Nicolas Malebranche. Abstract
